Dr. Samuel Ross MBE.
Samuel Ross' approach to design is through systems, across multiple fields, influenced by environment and live-experienced. Trained in graphic and product design, he first developed his thinking through industrial work before moving into fashion under the mentorship of Virgil Abloh, later founding A-COLD-WALL* as a way to translate social structure and material reality into clothing.
Through SR_A, Ross expanded this approach into furniture, sound, architecture, and collaborations with institutions and global partners, while continuing to engage questions of access and responsibility through initiatives that support emerging creatives.
His work has appeared in museum contexts and design exhibitions, reflecting a long-term commitment to how people move, and interact with the systems around them. Across all formats, Ross positions design as a civic tool shaped by use and experience, grounded in the conditions that produce it.
