Behind the scenes of every scene, there are a few who move the needle in the direction it should go - and in the sports sector, let alone in New York City as a whole, Vic is one of them. We chatted with our friend, a strategist and real-life connector between industries, about the latest and her love for New York, along with free game as always!
What are you currently working on?
“I'm currently working on a project I'm very excited about called "JumpShot". It's almost ready to launch. “JumpShot” brings basketball to life in a new refreshing way where you play the game and build a community around it. “Jumpshot” tracks your skill as you improve. We'll officially launch in NYC by the end of 2026.“
What's one piece of advice you'd give to others?
“I think my advice is what I always try to remind myself: that this MY lane. My path. You don't have to constantly look at others and their timeline of success to compare (especially when it's so easy to do with social media). It's okay to fail. It's okay to take longer to get back up. It's your life and your story. Write it proudly.“
What makes New York so great for you?
“New York is my love. No better city for an immigrant kid like myself to learn the ways and make something out of nothing. This city breathes life into everything. It can be brutal and liberating at the same time. I love that every day is different and there are endless ways to be inspired.”
What's something you're looking forward to?
“I'm really looking forward to this NBA season. Many teams look different after this offseason, and everyone has something to prove. That energy is unmatched. NYC wise, I can't wait for Lady Delilah to open here. I love their team and the city been waiting on it.”
Through time, we built our community to reflect our values, and with the thought process that community always comes first, we realized it was time to shine a light on the creatives in our orbit - showcasing them and their talent, aiming to reflect the current landscape through the people that are shifting it, day after day, with love for the practice. “Friends Of The Mercer” - a series meant to highlight our creative friends and share their work with the rest of the world.
