Nigel Sylvester
Nigel Sylvester has continued shaping how BMX connects to culture by turning his personal history into a public language people recognize instantly. In 2025, his sneaker release campaign built around the “Brick by Brick” idea extended that vision, tying his New York upbringing to persistence through design and storytelling.
The project showed up in real space through moments like the brick truck activation at ComplexCon, embodying the community in the work itself. Alongside releases, Sylvester has partnered with State Farm on the Red Nets initiative, helping restore basketball courts across the country by installing nets in underserved neighborhoods, reinforcing ideas of care and access rooted in his own upbringing.
At the core of his work is a commitment to building over time, using BMX as a way to move culture forward without losing where it started, brick by brick.
