WENT TO YA HOOD

Sim and Rivers represent a specific New York wave where proximity and memory shape opportunity. Went To Ya Hood was built from being inside the room early with Sim starting the brand while working the floor at BBC, and even posting the first W2YH tee during a break. For Rivers, BBC was the entry point too, where curiosity turned into access and fashion became something tangible rather than abstract.

That shared history made the Art Basel activation and BBC marketplace moment feel full circle, capped by a camo puff print tee that quietly nodded to BAPE, BBC, and early Soho without spelling it out.

While Rivers moved through spaces like 424, Nike, Corteiz, and AWGE, and Sim through Trapstar, Pelle Pelle, and Nike, their paths show how momentum in New York often comes from staying close to the work. What they’re building feels less like a breakthrough and more like the continuation of something that was already in motion, Harlem energy carrying forward with intention.
