Friends of The Mercer: Dilly
What are you currently working on?
"Right now, I’m focused on developing my content strategy so I can reach audiences further afield and connect with more people beyond the spaces where I currently play. I’m learning how to create content that feels authentic to me while also being engaging, consistent, and able to travel across different platforms and audiences. Alongside that bigger, long-term project, I’m continuing to refine the smaller details of my DJ sets — the transitions, pacing, and moments where I know I can be stronger. That’s something I can keep improving every time I play."
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to others?
"Keep going. Keep your ego low, and let your work speak for itself. Don’t take criticism too personally. If you think there’s truth in it, use it to improve. Push yourself, get uncomfortable, put your work out there, and enjoy the journey. I also think work life balance is what allows you to keep doing what you love without burning out and that mastery is key in NYC."

What makes New York so great for you?
"As a DJ, New York is one of the few places in the world where there’s entertainment almost 24/7. It’s such a huge nightlife city, so I’m grateful that I landed here and that this became part of my journey. I love the infinite possibilities, even though they can sometimes feel overwhelming. A week, a month, or a year here can feel ten times more compact and full than it might somewhere else. New York lets you live many lifetimes in one."
What’s something you’re looking forward to?
"I’m looking forward to continuing to DJ in bigger spaces, reaching more people, and playing more abroad. I’m excited for all the music I haven’t discovered yet, all the people I haven’t met, and all the memories I haven’t made. I’m also excited to keep climbing my own mountain. I already feel proud of what I’ve accomplished, but I’m looking forward to experiencing that feeling on an even bigger scale and discovering the versions of myself I haven’t met yet."
