FERRAGAMO'S FW26 CAMPAIGN TURNS SHOE OBSESSION INTO REAL ART
Maximilian Davis we hear you, and thank you so much for embedding art within this universe we all love so much, because it is (much) needed. When you hear about a campaign with Anok Yai and Vittoria Ceretti, while also knowing that there is a 1994 sculpture from Willie Cole, you stop what you are doing and look closer - and in this case, as Anok sits at the top of the throne, we fell in love once again with shoes and the power that they can hold, courtesy of Ferragamo of course.
‘La Mania Delle Scarpe,’ the title of the campaign which can be translated to ‘The Shoe Obsession,’ is here to show us the latest from Ferragamo’s universe, while taking into consideration the care and idea that goes beyond objects; and what happens when you don’t see them for what they are, but treat them as art, through the house’s codes, reimagined.
Maximilian shared the idea behind it perfectly: “Willie takes everyday objects: objects that you feel connected to, that you can relate to, and distorts them. The chair feels very surreal, but immediate – and, with my recent collections referencing Surrealism and Dadaism, the collaboration felt right.” Indeed, it feels right. Timeless, and in the words of Virgil Abloh “Embed art”. We can count on the house to make sure it’s happening.
