Skepta's The Fork and Knife is out now!
Don't hit us up this week - we are busy listening to that new Skepta.
SKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! Skepta’s new album, “The Fork and Knife”, just landed on streaming, and like always, you know we had to tune in and see what the new work from the living legend himself includes this time. Well, we found our favorite album of the year just in time - a holiday gift, some might say. A reflective Skepta is showing up from early on “Secrets of Patriarchy” as he reflects (still reflecting…) on the scripts that men are handed in their lives, though he flips the script (pun intended) later on as he moves between the front row at the Burberry show and working on Mains, among other important activities.

Moving on to a perfect three-track run between “Revenge”, where we go all the way back to “Rolex Sweep” times and the effects of it, and “Magic” to “Gas Me Up (Diligent)”. Jorja!!! Teaming up with Jorja Smith and Cench on “Broken Hearts”! Do we really need to add anything over here? Every day, all day. Last but not least - Skep teamed up with Bossman Birdie, Frisco, Jme, Kibo, Kruz Leone, Mayhem NODB, and Queenie for a track that will be referenced a lot when looking at the UK scene…
"I poured my fucking heart out on this album, it’s been a task making something conscious but still turnt up. I’ve grown up on YouTube and ultimately in front of you all and I believe the fact you’ve supported me for so long, I really do owe you honesty, I owe it to you to dig deeper, put my childish ego to the side and look inward to find some liberation that can help all of us."
10/10 for us. Catch our favorite track on this week’s cycle of MERCER__FM, available on Spotify.
Don't miss the next one.
